How Screening Helps

Using this picture to talk with someone about the benefits of screening for the community:

  • Opposite to the last picture, screening looks for TB in people who might not have symptoms. It doesn’t stop people from getting TB, but it can help find TB in people before they become too sick and before they can spread TB to others.

  • As you can see here, our original guy was screened, they found that he had Active TB, and he was able to be treated.

  • In a few months, he has finished his treatment and he’s TB-free and the people around him never had the chance to breathe in the TB bacteria and develop TB themselves.
