ᑕᕐᕋᑐᐃᒍᑎᒃ ᐊᑐᕐᑕᐅᓲᖅ ᓇᐅᑐᐃᓐᓇᖅ ᐃᒣᓕᖓᑐᐊᕐᒪᑦ:

• Has symptoms of TB.

• Was around someone who was contagious with Active TB.

• Has a recent ‘positive’ skin test.

• Is taking Active TB treatment, to make sure their lungs are healing well.

• Finished TB treatment and has X-rays every once in a while, to make sure their TB is not coming back.

• Is participating in community screening. It is used to know if the person should do spit tests for Active TB.

Example conversation with someone who is being asked to do an X-ray:

Reassure

• So, the TB nurse would like to do an X-ray. We’re asking you to do an X-ray because you’ve had TB before and it’s the easiest way to check on how your lungs are doing.

What/Why

• During the X-ray, the X-ray technician will take pictures of your lungs from different angles. - Getting an X-ray is generally considered safe. The tech will explain more and answer any questions you might have about safety.
